Project Scope Definition
PURPOSE
The Basic Engineering Design Questionnaire is used by the Project Manager to obtain
technical information required to proceed effectively with design work. Information
requested in this questionnaire will enable the design office to proceed with proper
consideration of client preference and specific technical requirements.
SCOPE
The Questionnaire is presented in a format such that it can be reviewed with the client or
sent to the client for completion. It has 11 sections:

4.0 Unit and Equipment Numbering
5.0 Plant / Unit Definition
6.0 Battery Limit Requirements
7.0 Site / Meteorological Data
8.0 Utility Conditions

10.0 Equipment and Design Considerations
11.0 Economic Evaluation Criteria
APPLICATION
It is the responsibility of the Project Manager to initiate completion of this questionnaire
immediately following notification to proceed on a project. It should be made available
to key project personnel for the purpose of project scope definition, project planning, and
determination of overall project execution requirements.
