Appendix 1 - ISD Guidelines................................
- Scope
-
- Introduction
This Engineering Procedure (EP) provides instructions for the development and approval of an Integration Specification Document (ISD) for all Integrated Process Automation System.
-
- Definition
The ISD is a document prepared by the PAS integrator that provides the technical specifications for the different systems and sub-systems including hardware, applications, data and communications interfaces. This document is only required if the project includes an Integrated Process Automation System (IPAS).
The IPAS is a system with two or more Process Automation Systems (PAS) linked via a common backbone or a wide-area network. Examples of IPAS are DCS/PMIS, SCADA/PMIS, and DCS/SCADA. Systems connected by serial interfaces do not fall under the category of IPAS.
-
- Purpose
The ISD shall constitute the basis for the design of an Integrated Process Automation System (IPAS).
-
- Timing
The ISD is part of the Requirements as described in EP-104. It is required that this document be approved by IV. prior to any detailed design of the IPAS.
It shall be issued prior to mechanical completion as an "as-built" document as a key reference for system and control engineers. It shall provide accurate and sufficient detail as the key document for future modifications and expansions.
-
- Applicability
An ISD is required for all projects governed by EP-104. |
