The purpose of this General Specification is to define the Safety Engineering requirements for floating hydrocarbon production and processing facilities as opposed to traditional onshore or offshore “fixed” installations that were the basis for the COMPANY General Specifications for Safety
 

The objective of this Specification is to ensure that Company surface positioning requirements are met during offshore operations.

This specification  defines the minimum technical requirements with respect to the installation of submarine pipelines (S-Lay and J-Lay), flexible pipes, umbilicals, reeled pipes. Pipeline installation in swamp areas, and towing out of bundles are not covered by the present General Specification.
 

This specification covers the recommended practices and minimum requirements to perform a hot tap operation by divers onto a subsea carrier pipeline.
 

Objectives of an Offshore Environmental Baseline Study (EBS)
The Environmental Baseline Study, which includes a site survey, is designed to record the initial environmental status of the intended project site prior to any on-site operation: exploratory program, field development or plant construction.
