There are many techniques and processes to help you be successful on a project. Some of them, like stakeholder engagement and proactive communication, are pretty well understood. Here are some other ways to increase the likelihood of success on your project that are not so obvious.

Deliverable reviews, or walkthroughs, can be applied to many of the products produced by the project. For example, you can conduct a deliverable review for a project schedule, business requirements, IT program code, research papers, etc. The following process can be used to plan and conduct a formal deliverable review.

The "grapevine" is a great metaphor for the way informal and unofficial news travels from person to person. Official news comes through official channels. 

The Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is an often misunderstood and underappreciated tool of project management. I would argue that it is a critical piece of the foundation of any project management methodology. Many misconceptions exist about what a WBS is, how it is used and why it is such an important part of the project management process
